Atmosphere

The “Ofenhaus” combines tradition and innovation in a harmonious overall concept. The modern design respects AMAG’s industrial history while creating an inviting environment that meets the needs of contemporary dining. The restaurant offers employees a place to enjoy themselves and relax—a space that is functional yet impresses with its clean aesthetic. This project demonstrates how historical identity and modern design can work together to create inspiring spaces.

Design and Materials

A central design element of the new look is the “Iseo” finish. Inspired by natural materials in their purest form, “Iseo” reflects the aesthetic of an old production hall. The large-format ceramic tiles run throughout all areas of the restaurant—from the kitchen to the cafeteria area and on to the restrooms—and, together with numerous wooden elements, lend the space a calm, harmonious atmosphere. With its distinctive look, reminiscent of limestone or concrete, “Iseo” combines down-to-earth simplicity with elegance, creating a fresh, modern effect.
